<br />Areas for New Emphasis <br /> <br />co <br />;: Under Section 5.2.8 of the LRP, the Coordinating Committee needs to initiate discussions and <br />'I--f studies on how to legally protect flows that may be recommended by the Program. <br /> <br />r.....) <br /> <br />c.) <br />Under Section 5.2.9 of the LRP, stocking plans for the upper San Juan River should be developed, <br />including appropriate studies to monitor the success (or lack thereof) of the stockings as presented <br />in the Discussion Paper on expanding the range of Colorado squawfish in the San Juan River <br />(Masslich and Holden 1996). <br /> <br />Under Section 5.2.9 of the LRP, studies of potential problems that the five diversion dams on the <br />river have on Colorado squawfish should be initiated using surrogate species and/or stocked <br />squawfish as presented in the Discussion Paper on expanding the range of Colorado squawfish in <br />the San Juan River (Masslich and Holden 1996). <br /> <br />Under Section 5.2.9 of the LRP, feasibility studies for physical habitat modification should be <br />initiated. <br /> <br />As integration of research results is completed, adaptive management principals should be used to <br />redirect the program as needed.
