CONTENTS

Colorado River Storage Project and
Participating Projects in Fiscal Year 1986

The Colorado River Storage Project (CRSP)
is a basinwide program 01 development and
use of water resources ot Jhe Upper Colorado
River. and IS one of the most complex and
extensive river resources developments in the
world.
It takes in the drainage area of the Upper
Colorado River Basin. encompassing parts of
Wyoming. Utah, Colorado, Arrzona, and New
Mexico - aboul one-twelfth 01 the continenlal
area of the Uniled States. CRSP storage units
(Glen Canyon, Flaming Gorge, Navajo, and 1118
Wayne N. Aspinall Unll dams) equalize Jt18
erratic flows of ttw Colorado River and its main
tributaries so that water delivery commitments
to !t1e lower Basin States - California, Arizona
and Nevada - can be met even in years of
low Ilow.
The remaining water in the Upper Basin
can then serve the needs of farmers, munici-
palities. and industries. Delivery 01 this waler to
consumers is accomplished !tHough the particI-
pating projects.

\
11

Mounl<lln snows provid0 Ifrlqation water

FY'86 in Review

u:~ ~ G ~ H7 "
!l:EB ~.3j988

2
6
10
14
16
18
19
20
21
22
23

Highlights
Construction
Envi ronmental
Salinity Control
Operations
Power Sales
Irrigation
Recreation
Social
Cultural
Fish & Wildlife

Financial
Comparative Balance Sheet
Income & Expense Summary
Cash Receipts & Disposition

Allocation & Repayment
Allocation of Federal Investment
Estimated Project Costs
Estimated Project Costs by Purpose
Esllmated Repayment of Federallnveslment
prog ress of Repayment
Rate 01 Repayment
Exhibit - Historical & Projected Repayment of
Authorrzed Reimbursable Investment
Map

c

(,

r

26
28
29

31
32
33
34
35
36

38
40
