Complementing these two reports is <br /> <br />an informative Senate report prepared by the Library of Congress at <br />the request of Senator Warren G. Magnuson.].! <br /> <br />An extensive discussion and review of the wide range of weather modi- <br /> <br />fication aspects was conducted during 1966 through Congressional <br />hearings occasioned by the introduction of bills by Senator Magnuso~/ <br />and by Senator Clinton P. Anderson with 20 other senators.~/ Over <br />900 printed pages of hearings testimony have been summarized by the <br /> <br />National Science Foundation under five main thoughts: (1) Are we ready <br /> <br /> <br />to proceed with weather modification operations now?, (2) Scope of the <br /> <br />Effort., (3) Unification and Coordination., (4) Regulation., and (5) Insur- <br />ance and Indemnification.~/ There was general agreement during the <br /> <br />hearings with the NAS-NRC and NSF reports and recommendations.
