Testing of the brine well field continues, along with monitoring of <br /> <br />Dolores River flows and conductivity and ground water and brine interface <br /> <br />readings and water level measurements. <br /> <br />2. Data collection is underway for the evaluation of possible alternative <br /> <br />geologic formation for deep well disposal of brine. <br /> <br />3. A. U.S. Department of Justice attorney mailed a draft Finding of Fact <br /> <br />and Conclusion of Law to the Colorado State Engineer for a change in water <br /> <br />right and plan for augmentation. State's attorney believes that Colorado <br /> <br />would agree with this document with a few modifications concerning <br /> <br />beneficial use of water. <br /> <br />4. In January a contract to develop four existing wells was awarded to <br /> <br />Zimmerman Well Service; work commenced on January 30. Testing of the brine <br /> <br />'well field was terminated to prepare for this work. <br /> <br />5. In January bids were accepted for geophysical data interpretation <br /> <br />contracts. Preparation continues on a work statement/contract for an <br /> <br />injection system, construction design consultant. <br /> <br />6. Award of a contract for drilling of the injection well has been delayed <br /> <br />7 months from March 1985 to October 1985. <br />
