<br />. <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br />00 <br />~ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />is interested in a firm annual supply of 40,000 (2,000 ppm) to 50,000 <br />(5-6,000 ppm) acre-feet of water depending on water quality. The poorer <br />the water quality the more water required. The State of Nevada is also <br />looking for an additional firm water supply. Potential sources included <br /> <br />Lower Virgin River water, Aquatrain, Las Vegas Wash, and Deep Carbonate. <br /> <br />4. Palo Verde Irrigation District Unit <br /> <br />Funding has been established in FY-84 and for FY-85 to conduct <br /> <br />preliminary studies and determine the scope of the investigation. During <br /> <br />this time, a hydrosalinity model of the District will be developed and a <br />2-year data base will be established. Activities will include the <br />installation of approximately 40 observation wells, soil and water sampling <br /> <br />and analysis, and collection of farm management data. A status report will <br /> <br />be documented for the findings obtained during the preliminary studies. A <br /> <br /> <br />study plan has been developed and Reclamation is in the process of <br /> <br /> <br />initiating Field work for the data collection programs. <br />
