<br />There ale earthen wing dams on either Side of the main dam. The north <br />wing dam 153,880 feet long, connecting to the earlllfill structure of the <br />main dam at the north abutment. The south wing dam is 5,807 feet <br />long ilnd connects to tile south end of the concrete structure of the <br />main dam. A bituminous-suI faced roadway. 21 feet Wide, extends along <br />the clest of the north wing dam, main dam, and south wing dam. The <br />overall length of tile structure is 2.6 miles. Cooperative Studies and ActiVities <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />Article VIII G (1) of Arkansas River Compact requlles Ole <br />Administration to cooperate With the ChIef OffiCial of each <br />of the states of Cololado and Kansas charged with the <br />adlninistratlOn of walel rights in their respective States, and <br />with the Federal agencies in systematically determining and <br />correlating IIle facts pertaining to the flow and dlversiOIl of <br />the water of the Arkansas River and to the operation and <br />siltation of John Martin Reservoir and otller related <br />structures. Article VIII G (2) requests Ole Drrector of the <br />United States Geological SUlvey, the Commissioner of the <br />United States Bureau of ReClamation, and the Chief of the <br />Engineers, United States Army, to coopefate and <br />collaborate with tile Administration and with applopriate <br />State officials in such determinations and correlahons of <br />stfeam flow Jnd related data.
