have been impossible.
In Kansas it is fortunate that the years of the war effort have
been years of abundant stream flow. Had the war situation arisen
during the 1936-1940 period, water supplies would have been wholly
inadequate for such industrial expansion as has taken place in the
lower part of the Neosho basin. Before dry years return some works
for the regulation of stream flow must be built if such industries are
to continue to operate and the present increased population is to
continue to live there.
