<br />President Nlehols declared a quorum present, and asked if there were anyamend-
<br />ments or corrections to the minutes of the August 17, 1987 meeting as distributed.
<br />Hearing none, he declared the minutes approved.

<br />Treasurer Shoun read the financial statement for the month of August in detail, and
<br />moved that all bills be approved and paid, and the financial statement approved and
<br />adopted. Motion seconded by Christy, and unanimously cArried.
<br />
<br />CENTRAL ARIZONA - FRY-ARK REPORT:
<br />
<br />General Manager Thomson reported he had ;just talked with Senator Gordon Allott's
<br />office in Washlngion, D, C., and was advised that Senator Carl Hayden of Arizona
<br />had been asked to withdraw his proposed amendment to the Public Works Appropri-
<br />ation Bill which wauld have stricken a sizeable share of the funding for the Frying-
<br />pan-Arkansas Project. The request came from Senators from bath sides of the
<br />alsle. and offered the Senator the opportunity withdraw his smendment rather thsi1
<br />having It defeated. He did. however, receive the unanimous consent of the Sub-
<br />Committee authorl~ing him to resubmit the amendment before the full Committee
<br />If he so desired.
