The overall <br />objective of this study can be stated as follows: <br /> <br />..... <br />o <br />o <br />IoU> <br /> <br />Prepare a water resources management plan for the study <br />area that will result in economic benefits to the area, <br />preserve the critical aspects of the area's environment, <br />and preserve the area's water supply to meet the local <br />demand which can be reasonably expected to develop in the <br />forseeable future. <br /> <br />2.2 TARGET OBJECTIVES FOR ALTERNATIVE PLANS <br /> <br />In order to accomplish the broad objective stated above, the recommended <br />management plan should have the capability to meet the following specific <br />target objectives: <br /> <br />~. Satisfy projected future municipal and industrial water demands <br />within the study area. <br />~. Provide high quality recreation opportunities that will result in <br />increased tourism and related economic benefits to the study area and <br />the State of Colorado. <br />v3. Assure that an adequate water supply will be available to support the <br />recreational opportunities proposed as a result of meeting objective <br />2 above. <br />~. Satisfy projected future agricultural water demands in the study <br />area. <br />v5. Provide a mechanis~for financing the proposed water management plan <br />such as hydropower facilities, out-of-basin water sales or other <br />means. <br />16. Preserve the critical aspects of the environment to the maximum <br />practicable extent consistent with the other target objectives. <br /> <br />7.
