Lateral Loss. and Field Irrjaation Efficiencv <br />Estimates <br /> <br />Introduction <br /> <br />Enclosed herein are the results of the analyses performed regarding ditch loss, lateral loss and <br />farm efficiencies following the Phase 1 report (BEC, January 1988), It represents the conclusion of <br />Subtask 6 of Contract Amendment No.4 (May, 1988), For reviewing purposes information <br />developed under Task 2,2,3 (Headgate-to-Farm Conveyance Losses) and Task 2,2.4 (On-Farm or <br />Field Irrigation Efficiencies) has been included and where appropriate updated, 'This November 9, <br />1988 version supercedes the Ditch Loss Memorandum (BEC, June '6, 1988) and Lateral Loss <br />Memorandum (BEC, July 20,1988), <br /> <br />Obiective <br /> <br />Objective of the task was to obtain available data regarding headgate-to-farm canal plus lateral <br />losses and on.farm efficiencies, It consisted of the following: <br /> <br />o Estimate headgate-to-farm conveyance losses for approximately 25 major structures <br />based on system operating records, interviews with ditch and reservoir companies, <br />and the results of site specific studies collected in Phase 1, <br /> <br />o Estimate on-farm or field irrigation efficiencies from previous investigations, <br />Inte,rviews with ditch owners and available records collected in Phase 1 for <br />approximately 25 major ditches in the study area, <br /> <br />o Evaluate miscellaneous correspondence received following the Phase 1 Report and <br />prepare a matrix of canal loss, lateral loss and ditch efficiency, <br /> <br />.-,i <br />
