It contains information on the many <br />resource and management considerations within the Southern San Juan Mountains Unit. <br />Hopefully, it will be useful to you as a participant in the scheduled workshops and other <br />public meetings. <br /> <br />In addition to this packet, other information will periodically be developed and made <br />available at public meetings and through the news media. You can also receive more <br />information by writing directly to the Forest Service or by visiting one of our offices. The <br />locations of these offices are shown in the Planning Unit Study Fact Sheet, and the <br />addresses for the three Supervisors' Offices are on the back cover of this Packet. <br /> <br />This Packet contains: <br /> <br />An Invitation - to become involved and to participate in the development of the land use <br />plan. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />A Unit Description - describing physical characteristics of the unit. <br /> <br />The Unit Study. explaining the objectives of this land use planning effort. <br /> <br />Some Trends and Assumptions. stating some of the projected demands and uses for the <br />unit. <br /> <br />Fact Sheets - containing data and information on the resources and activities in this unit. <br /> <br />A Response Sheet. designed as a convenient way for you to express your ideas, opinions, <br />and values about the unit. You may. of course, use any method you wish to provide us with <br />your input. <br /> <br />Maps- <br /> <br />1. location and Unit Boundaries Schematic. behind the Unit Description Fact Sheet_ <br /> <br />2.
