Three sets of field data for the transport
study representing different vater temperat_ lIJId Iwdraulic conditiODS vare
obtained for reaches of MiddleLoup River at Dunning, Nebr., Dismal River at
Dunning, Nebr., and Middle Loup River below the confluellCe with the Dismal
River.

Sediment discharge data for the 1955 water year were released as
completed.

Review and revision of the report "Investigations of sedilllent trans-
portation, Middle Loup River at Dunning, Nebr., with application of data frOlll
turbulence flllll1e" was completed for publication as a water-supply paper. The
progress report, "Investigations of sediment transportation, Middle Loup River
at Dwmi.ng, Nebr., 1956", was completed and submitted for'open}'ile release.

Sedimentation investigations in the Cheyenne River basin which were
supported by funds transferred by the Bureau of Reclamation were continued.

Studies of upland erosion and deposition to obtain data for land-
treatment practicies were conducted ill association with hydrologic studies in
the Willow Creek area nearRlrt1'eck, Mont., the Wind River and Bighorn River
Basins, Wyo., and the Box Creek area of the Cheyenne River Basin, near Douglas,
Wyo.
