<br />Rue<i1 ~rvoir oontent on September 30, 1978 was 98,334 acre-feet. <br /> <br />Table 1 and Exhibit 4 show the operation of Ruedi Peservoir during water <br /> <br />year 1978. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />South and tbrth Side COllection System <br /> <br />'!he Fryingpan-Arkansas Project imports began on April 26 and stopped on <br />August 17, 1978. Diversions \..ere made from April 26 to May 1 and fran <br />May 15 through August 17. <br /> <br />The total diversion through Chareles H. Boustead Tunnel in 1978 was <br />49,319 acre-feet which included 49,033 acre-feet of direct diversions <br />and 286 acre-feet of seepage. '1lle 1978 diversions shawn on Exhibits 5F <br />and 5G include 345 acre-feet of Busk- Ivanhoe water carried through the <br />oollection system. The sources of the diversions are: Sawyer Gulch, <br />5%; Chapnan Gulch, 16%; South Fork, 26%; Fryingpan River, 40%: Lily Pad, <br />3%; and Ivanhoe Creek, 10%. <br /> <br />I <br />. , <br />I <br /> <br />'!be Fryingpan-Arkansas Camlission net with representatives of the Bureau <br />of Reclamation, Fish and Wildlife Service (known then as the Bureau of <br />Sport Fisheries and Wildlife), Forest Servi;ce, and COlorado Division of <br />Wildlife on May 10, 1972, and discussed the distribution of rni.nimurn <br />fishery bypass flows on the ooHection system as based on the ~rating <br />Principles. '!be Bureau of Reclamation proposed that bypass fish flows <br />not be required at Granite, South Cunningham, Lily Pad, and Sawyer Creek <br />diversions as these creeks had dried up during the previous year. 'Ihe . <br />Fish and Wildlife Sezvice stated that it had written a letter on October <br />19, 1964, suggesting that the Fryingpan-Arkansas Project forego fish <br />bypass flows at the above-rrentioned diversion points. <br /> <br />'ltlose attending the rreeting agreed to these operating criteria, and the <br />Fish and Wildlife Sezvice letter of May H, 1972, to the Chainnan of the <br />Fryingpan-Arkansas Camlission reCOllllended that the Bureau of Reclamation <br />forego fish bypass flows at Granite, Lily Pad, and Sawyer Creek diversion <br />points.
