<br />mended the purchasinp; of a smaller seda.n. Wagner moved and Youne secon~ed
<br />the motion, that the Manager get bids on a replacement. The Directors agreed
<br />that for servicing reasons. as well as convenience, the automobile should be
<br />purchased from a dealership in Pueblo. They directed the Manager to develop
<br />a set of specifications, und obtain bids from the Pueblo Automobile ';'eencies,
<br />and buy the lowest cost. Motion unanimously carried.

<br />General Manager Thomson then presented business cards which he sUBgested
<br />might help tell the District story. He uked whether or not the Directors,
<br />as individuals, would like to have business cards. They unanimously agreed
<br />they do not need the busmess cards, but do use the cards which have the complete
<br />roster of..il Director 6 on it. .
<br />
<br />Manager Thomson stated that upon assuming his duties. he found that the
<br />District did n,ot have dictating equipment, and that Administrative Activities
<br />were greatly restricted by the lack of this machinery. He recommended the
<br />purchase of a portable unit, and:1 transcribing machine, at a total cost of
<br />$830. Young moved, seconded by McCurdy, that the District purchase the IBM
<br />equipment recommended by the Manager, Motion unanimously carried.

<br />Manager Thomson reported that the sun was posing problems in t~e Board of
<br />Directors room. the lobby, and his office, and that the direct sunlight will
<br />deteriorate the carpeting and furnitul'e at a much more rapid rate, than if
<br />inexpensive blinds or drapes were provided. He presented four proposals.
<br />Ciruli moved. seconded by Everett. that we purchase drapes for all of the windows
<br />at an amount of $785 from the building fund. Motion unanimously carried.

<br />General Manager Thomson then eave a report on a freight-rate increase. which
<br />is being proposed by the Rio Grande Motorway, and other Transportation
<br />Companies. He stated that he would like. as a registered practitioner before
<br />regulatory bodies, to appear before the regulatory bodies lias the interest of
<br />the District may appearll. Young then moved, st:conded by Director Everett,
<br />that Manager Thomson represent the District in such freight. rate matters as
<br />he determines in the best interests of the District. Motion unanimously carried.

<br />Manager Thomson stated he had received a number of requests. both in writing
<br />and verbally, from constituents in the District, asking whether or not their
<br />mWlicipalities or their ditch companies might be elegible for purchase of
<br />Fryingpan W.:lter. He stated he had reported that this matter is premature at
<br />this time, and that at the appropriate time the Board will set forth a specific
<br />format to be followed. The Directors concurred with this report.

<br />President Nichols reported th-.t he had received a request from the Security
<br />Water District, asking somewhat the same question. and requesting that a
<br />speaker address their group to bring them up to date on the Project, and the
<br />District. He advised that he has req\E sted 5omeone from the Bureau of
<br />Reclamation to make this report, and to give them specific information.

<br />Young obser.ved that many Directors have not seEm the Analog. and recommended
<br />that those Directors who have not seen the Analog, as well as other interested
<br />persons, make a trip to Phoenix to learn more about the program. All Directors
