However, these records do not

presume to guarantee anything not provided by nature. Emergency operations of

the reservoir may require a minimum flow lower than that anticipated for short

periods of time. These problems are not, however, foreseen at the present time

and all design considerations will be taken to insure that emergency situations

do not develop.

D. Minimum Flow Below the Indian Diversion Dam

A minimum flow of 50 cfs is proposed below the Indian Diversion Dam.

The magnitude of this flow was arrived at by averaging two 10-day periods in

the 1977 drought year, namely, June 25 to July 4 and July 10 to July 19.

Table 3 shows, however, that minimum flows would occur only in late

summer months of drought years. Average flows during these months below the

diversion dam would be in the 100 - 300 cfs range.

Table 3
White River Flows (cfs)

Low Daily Flow
Ave. Flow @ Within Month @
Ave. Flow Below Indian Watson Gage Watson Gage
Diversion W/ Project w/o Project w/o Project
Month (1930 - 1978) (1977) (1977) (1977)
Oct. 258 198 384 356
Nov. 275 227 344 134
Dec. 248 220 292 225
Jan. 243 220 320 215
Feb. 312 244 349 265
Mar. 502 220 396 315
Apr. 543 196 412 320
May 1,024 105 384 255
June 1,287 52 263 32
July 256 50 139 13
Aug. 110 50 206 77
Sept. 158 121 211 150
