<br />OJ <br /> <br />..~ <br /> <br />an <br /> <br />located in the northwest section of the <br /> <br />plant site. Water will come from an <br /> <br />intake structure 'to be constructed on <br /> <br />the bank of the Yampa River, about 0.7 <br /> <br /> <br />mile from the boundary of the site. The <br /> <br />water intake structure will be an <br />enclosed concrete facility with a <br /> <br />traveling screen and screen-wash unit <br /> <br />to eliminate trash. The screen will be <br /> <br />flush with the front of the intake <br /> <br />structure, at the end of an intake <br />channel. Pumping capacity wifl be about <br />20,000 ~pm, and the pond storage will <br /> <br />provide a reserve water supply sufficient <br /> <br />for about one week of operation for both <br /> <br />units. <br /> <br />The intake structure will be built by <br /> <br />first constructing a cofferdam which <br /> <br />will greatly reduce agitation of the <br /> <br />river water during construction and <br /> <br />thereby reduce turbidity. After the <br /> <br />construction of the intake structure is <br /> <br />completed, the river bank will be ~rnded <br /> <br />and rip-rap or other river bank protection <br /> <br />will be installed to protect the river <br /> <br />-138- <br />
