The increment added by the <br />Project may be seen in Figure 22, which <br /> <br />illustrates the change in water level, <br /> <br />equivalent to that required by the Project, <br /> <br />during maximum drawdown. Roughly one- <br /> <br />third of the total streambank habitat <br /> <br />inundated by the reservoir will be the <br />result of the increased-capacity design, <br /> <br />Filling the reservoir will displace a <br />herd of 60 to 65 deer which normally <br /> <br />use the streambank habitats. Preliminary <br /> <br />investigations indicate that adjacent <br />suitable habitat upstream is only <br /> <br />slightly used; so displacement should <br /> <br />be possible. <br /> <br />The non-riparian habitat to be inundated <br /> <br />by the reservoir is considered to be of <br /> <br />relatively poor quality. Its loss will <br /> <br />probably not prove significant.
