Water- <br /> <br />level fluctuations would occur in any <br /> <br />reservoir in this area, but would be <br /> <br />accentuated by withdrawal of water for <br /> <br />power plant use. Figure 22 illustrates <br /> <br />the extent of the area exposed by maxi- <br /> <br />mum drawdown. The inset graph shows <br /> <br />the surface area versus water-level <br /> <br />elevation, which is, correlated to the <br /> <br />area that would be exposed by partial <br /> <br />drawdowns. Mudflats exposed by lowering <br /> <br />the water level would be aesthetically <br />displeasing, and could interfere with <br /> <br />recreational use of the area. Extensive <br /> <br />d~awdown would be expected to occur <br /> <br />in the latter portion of the summer <br /> <br />recreational season. At this time, <br /> <br />exposure of mudflats would result in <br /> <br />the death of emergent aquatic plants <br /> <br />-150- <br />
