Each State <br />and agency desc1'1bed the structure, operation, and philosophy <br />of coordination, and :full attention was given to how inter- <br />agency coordination could be improved within existing frame- <br />works. <br /> <br />Sedimentation Subcommittee <br /> <br />1. Meetings <br /> <br />The Subcommittee held four meetings during the year as <br />follows: <br /> <br />64-3 September 1, 1964 <br />64-4 December 1, 1964 <br />65-1 March 9, 1965 <br />65-2 JUne 15, 1965 <br /> <br />- Albuquerque, New Mexico <br />- Las Vegas, Nevada <br />- YUllIa, Arizona <br />- Oroville, California <br /> <br />At the 64-3 meeting a field trip was made to a Geological <br />Survey research project near Bernardo, New Mexico. <br /> <br />2. Reports <br /> <br />In the interest of dissemination of in:f'ormation on sedimentation <br />problems, several talks and panel discussions were sponsored <br />by the subcommittee. At the 64-3 meeting a symposi1.llll. on <br />sedimentation research in the Pacific Southwest Area was con- <br />ducted with presentations by representatives of USBR, ARS, <br />USFS, and USGS. These reports were attached as a supplement <br />to the minutes of the PSIAC meeting. At the 64-4 meeting <br />Graham W. Renfro of the ses gave a talk - "Objectives and <br />Program of the Sedimentation Work Group of the Arkansas <br />White-Red J3asin Inter-Agency Committee." At the 65-1 meeting <br />Frank C. Ames of the USGS presented a talk on the measurement <br />of streamflow and sediment discharge of the Amazon River. <br />At the 65-2 meeting a panel diSCussion was conducted on the <br />occurrence of sedimentation damage and destructive floods on <br />California water-sheds. Panel members were Richard Hawkins, <br />Calif. Dept. of Water Resources, Saul Rantz, USGS, Walter <br />Parsons, Corps of Engineers, and Henry Anderson, USFS. <br /> <br />3. Publications <br /> <br />"Sedimentation Activities" -- A compilation of material <br />furnished by each agency on activities in the field of <br />sedimentation within the Pacific Southwest area. <br /> <br />4.
