Jim Daber March 1 , 1984 FROM: DATE: RE: wildlife Commission Meeting- March 15, 1984 There were two items listed on the agenda in which we are interested. Following is a brief summary of each item: Real Estate - Catlin Canal During the last few years, the DOW has leased out some of its Catlin shares to irrigators. This was a report on the responses to bid advertisements for the upcoming season. The Division had requested minimum bids of $15 per share. On that basis, bids were received on 485 shares out of a possible 1997. Assuming all 485 shares are leased for one year, this will generate approximately $11,255 for DOW. Because fewer shares were bid on this year, this projected income is about $2000 less than 1983. It was pointed out that some additional requests may be received later in the season, generating additional income. The commission unanimously approved a motion authorizing the staff to negotiate leases. Real Estate - San Luis Lakes Don Smith gave a report on this subject as it relates to the Closed Basin Project. The Commission was not asked to vote on anything at this time. It was treated as an informational item under real estate because at some time in the future, DOW lands will have to be transferred to the Bureau of Reclamation.
