<br />San Juan-Chama <br />Water Accounting <br />Albuquerque Area Office <br />January 1999 <br /> <br />The natural inflow into Heron Reservoir during the month of January was <br />computed to be 279 acre-feet (AF) as shown in Table 3. There were 189 AF net <br />San Juan-Chama (SJ-C) losses, as shown in Table 2, There were no diversions <br />through Azotea Tunnel this month. due to on-going tunnel maintenance, <br /> <br />There was a total of 136 AF of Natural (RG) released from Heron. There was a <br />total of 10,145 AF of SJ-C water released from Heron.of which 5.000 AF was <br />delivered to the City of Albuquerque in Abiquiu as payback for SJ-C water <br />borrowed during 1997 for delivery to Cochiti as evaporation replacement water: <br />2.624 AF was delivered to the City of Albuquerque in Abiquiu as payback for <br />SJ-C water borrowed during 1998 for delivery to Cochiti as evaporation <br />replacement water: 2.521 AF were delivered to the City of Albuquerque pool in <br />Abiquiu as a portion of the City's 1999 Heron allocation. <br /> <br />There were no SJ-C releases from El Vado during the month, <br /> <br />There were no SJ-C releases from Abiquiu during January, <br /> <br />There was 0.5 inches of precipitation at Heron Reservoir, which is 37% of the <br />January (running) average of 1.35 inches. The monthly computations for Heron <br />Reservoir are summarized in Tables 1-3. <br /> <br />Total inflow into Nambe Falls Reservoir was computed to be 271 AF, There were <br />0.3 AF of losses on the reservoir. Table 4 summarizes San Juan-Chama water at <br />Otowi , <br /> <br />Estimated sediment deposition in the San Juan-Chama pools at Abiquiu and Jemez <br />Canyon Reservoirs. and Cochiti Lake are presented in Tables 5A-5C, Results of <br />1998 sediment surveys conducted at Abiquiu. Cochiti and Jemez Reservoirs <br />became effective on January 1, 1999, As a result of these surveys. the <br />accumulated sediment for each of these reservoirs was set to zero for the <br />beginning of the year. as seen in Tables 5A-5C, Storage and evaporation of <br />Rio Grande water in El Vado and Abiquiu Reservoirs are shown in Table 6. <br /> <br />All data are provisional and subject to revision as final data are collected <br />and analyzed. <br /> <br />
