<br />000535 <br /> <br />Section 1. <br /> <br />Identification and Purpose of Act <br /> <br />(a) Identification of Act <br /> <br />(b) Outstandingly remarkable values to be preserved <br />and protected in a free-flowing condition -- <br />scenic, recreational, geologic, fish and wild- <br />life, historic, cultural, or other similar <br />values. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />(c) Purpose of +I,is Act - to implement .a conservation <br />policy by instituting a national rivers system <br />designating initial components to the system and <br />prescribing methods for adding other components <br />to the system. <br /> <br />National Wild and Scenic ~ivers System <br /> <br />(a) A river may be included in the national system <br />by: <br /> <br />(1) an Act of Congress., or <br />(2) by authority of the Secretary of the Interior <br /> <br />(b) Eligibility for inclusion in national system: <br />must be a free-flowing stream, and possess one <br />or more of the values in Sec. l(b). <br />Must be classified, designated, and administered <br />as one or more of the following: <br /> <br />(1) Wild river areas <br />(2) Scenic river areas <br />(3) Recreational river areas <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Instant Rivers and Procedure <br /> <br />(a) <br />(b) <br /> <br />Eight (8) rivers.listed <br />Procedure on instant rivers <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />\ <br />
