Boustead Tunnel to eastern slope Project facilities. <br /> <br />Waters will supplement an inadequate eastern slope irrigation <br /> <br />supply, enable generation of power, and servc municipal and <br /> <br />industrial needs within southeastern Colorado. Recreation <br /> <br />opportunities for hundreds of thousands of people will be created <br /> <br />by impoundment of native Arkansas River and imported water in <br /> <br />Project reservoirs. <br /> <br />4. Status of Construction <br /> <br />Construction began on the North Side Collection System in April <br /> <br />1970 with construction of Nast Access Road. <br /> <br />~resently the North Side Collection System is approximately 26 <br /> <br />percent complete based on expenditures as of January 1, 1972. <br /> <br />Figure 5 (North Side Collection System Status of Constr'J.ction) is <br /> <br />a breakdo,on by feature with percent complete based on construction <br /> <br />progress as of January 1, 1972. <br /> <br />Currently construction it; undel"tvay at Nast T:..J.np.c.l, Granite Allit <br /> <br />and the Fryingpan Conduit. <br /> <br />15 <br />
