The Chief Engineer also authored an <br />article on "The Southwest's Water Needs" <br />which appeared in the July/August, 1967 issue <br />of Arts & Architecture magazine. <br />Mr. Cole also addressed the Board of Directors <br />of the West Basin Water Association on May <br />25, 1967, on the subject "An Engineer's View <br /> <br />.~ <br /> <br />of Legal Accomplishments in the Colorado <br />River Basin." He discussed the history of the <br />use and development of the Colorado River and <br />the significant legal milestones and legislation <br />that guided this development. <br />Mr. Cole reported to the Water and Power <br />Committee of the Los Angeles Chamber of <br />Commerce on February 20, 1967 and Mr. <br />Holburt, Principal Engineer, to the California <br />Water Resources Association on May 12, 1967 <br />on the status of the Colorado River Basin Proj- <br />ect Bills pending before the 90th Congress. <br />The Board stalf worked closely with the <br />Colorado River Association on press releases, <br />brochures and maps. Drawings and information <br />were furnished for a telecast over the Columbia <br />Broadcasting System on the water problems of <br />the Colorado River Basin. Many persons made <br />use of the Board's library as a reference source <br />and sought the advice and help of the stalf. <br /> <br />11 <br />
