Critical that subteam leaders review <br />and provide comments, including start and duration information. <br /> <br />Initial Colorado advance work accomplished: <br /> <br />- Moffat County - support for primary route and opposition <br />to secondary. Interested in expanding export of coal <br />with sensitivity to ranching. <br />- Garfield County - supportive, positive feedback. Issues <br />involve socioeconomic benefits with sensitivity to split <br />in county between environmental and economic orientations. <br />- Mesa County - supportive but cautious due to recent shutdowns <br />in oil shale industry. Sensitivities include land use, <br />agriculture, and ranching. <br />- Rio Blanco - supportive for economic reasons and sensitivity <br />is oriented toward socioeconomic issues. Will work closely <br />with county on corridor routing. <br /> <br />Conducted various coordination activities in Washington, D.C., <br />following Clinton/McKeever briefing on May 25. <br /> <br />Public information activities in progress include: slide <br />show, exhibits, brochure, speech writing, and placement <br />of articles in print media. <br /> <br />Located what appears to be suitable program for mailing list. <br /> <br />7.2 ANTICIPATED JUNE EVENTS <br /> <br />Anticipate selection of four student analysts for public <br />involvement effort. Analysts to report to Planning Coordinator <br />with Denver as duty station. UC to provide support in personnel <br />process and training of incumbents. <br /> <br />5 <br />
