<br />I. <br />I <br /> <br />EXHIBIT 'e' <br /> <br />CHAPTER III <br /> <br />PRELIMINARY <br />DESIGNS AND ESTIMATES <br /> <br />Cow Creek Feeder Canal <br /> <br />The Cow Creek Feeder Canal would extend southwesterly about 8.5 <br /> <br />miles from the Cow Creek Diversion Dam to Ridgway Reserve ir. In its <br /> <br />initial 2-mile section the canal would closely follow the alignment of <br />the exieting Alkali Ditch No.2. It would replace the initial section <br /> <br />of this ditch and provide water to the remaining section. The feeder <br /> <br />canal would have a capacity of 325 second-feet from its head to the <br /> <br />turnout to Alkali Ditch and a capacity of 300 second-feet in the remain- <br /> <br />ing'section. With the exception of two reaches of bench flume and, two <br /> <br />drop. structures with a total length of 0.8 mile, the canal would be of <br /> <br />earth construction. <br /> <br />Log Hill Mesa Canal <br /> <br />Log Hill Mesa Canal would head at the outlet works of Dallas Divide <br /> <br />Reservoir and extend about 8.6 miles northeast across the upper portion <br /> <br />of Log Hill Mesa. The canal would have an initial capacity of 110 second- <br /> <br />feet and a terminal capacity of 65 second-feet at McKenzie Creek. The <br /> <br />canal would include about 5 miles of lined earth section and 3.6 miles <br /> <br />of concrete pipe. A turnout with a capac~ty of 45 second-feet would <br /> <br />be made to Fisher Creek, and the creek used as a distribution lateral. <br /> <br />Log Hill Mesa Canal'would be constructed primarily in sandy clay <br /> <br />soils overlying sandstone and shales. In two reaches of canal in which <br /> <br />pipe would be installed, the cross slopes are steep and, in places, <br />
