',. <br /> <br />CHAPrER III <br /> <br />DESIGNS AND ESTIMATES <br /> <br />The reservoir spillway would be located on the left abutment of <br /> <br />the dam and would be an uncontrolled morning-glory type with a design <br /> <br />capacity of 7,600 second-feet at maximum reservoir water surfaceele- <br /> <br />vation 7,082 feet. An outlet to the Uncompahgre River would be provided <br /> <br />in the right abutment of the dam and an outlet to the Ridgway Pumping, <br /> <br />Plant in the left ebutment of the dike. The river outlet 'WOuld have <br /> <br />a capacity of 1,360 second-feet at normal water surface elevation. The <br /> <br />outlet to the pumping plant would have a capacity of approximately 1,100 <br /> <br />second-feet at a reservoir water surface elevation of 7,048 feet. <br /> <br />Most of the reservoir baSin is mantled with glacial debris which <br /> <br />is underlain by Mancos s\)ale. lIoth the dam and dike 'WOuld be in glacial <br /> <br />moraine. Suitable earth:materials for construction are available in <br /> <br />,. <br /> <br />the immediate vicinity of the structures. Good quality granite riprap <br /> <br />can be obtained near Ouray, a haul of approximately, 10 miles. <br /> <br />Details', of the dam 'and dike in Ridgway Reservoir are shown on the <br /> <br />drawing on the following page. <br /> <br />Dallas Reservoir <br /> <br /> <br />Dallas Divide ReserVoir on Pleasant Valley Creek would have a total <br /> <br />capacity of 17,600 acre-feet, including 15,400 acre-feet of active stor- <br /> <br /> <br />age and 2,200 acre-feet of inactive and dead cap~city.
