~~
CJI they will .send us the data. Early indications are that the Ph and Electrical
~.. Conductivity are going down at a very slow rate. Productivity of these plots
~J remains at zero. Extreme caution must be used while spreading the sulfur
because it can catch fire. A spreader that does'nt have any moving parts
that will rub or scrape the sulfur is recommended.

Seed Production Record

Jose Wheat Grass

1969 - 174#
1970 - 213#
1971. - 156#
1972 - 193#

1973 - 0 Replant
1974 - 160#
1975 - 563#

A startling increase in seed production was recorded in 1975.. This
increase in production coincides with an equally phenomenal decrease in. the
ground water table. As yet we have not been able to find the cause of the
ground water table reduction. The degree of relationship between a lower
ground water table and better production have been substantiated by earlier
pumping tests in the Bethel corners areal. It has also been established that
canal lining and improved farm practices will lower the water table so un-
doubtedly many farmers here in the valley can look forward to increased
production.

1
C.5.U Bul. 535 F Reclamation of Saline Soils in the Upper Colorado
River Basin.
