Additional funding is required to <br />expedite the planning studies and to initiate research on <br />salt precipitation in reservoirs and to continue the re- <br />search in the areas of evaporation pond cost reduction <br />and desalting pretreatment. The Council believes that <br />$.)00,000 for research is needed in adiiticn to the $2.5 nrillion <br />included in the Fiscal Year 1980 budget for the Water <br />Quality Improvement Program to expedite the studies and <br />carry out the research activities.
