Develop an exchange network with <br />collaborative process professionals to heighten the <br />awareness of the Southwest strategy. . <br />Action: Prepare a white paper for work group members on <br />building monitoring plans into their activities. <br />Action: Ensure that work group activities for implementation <br />clearly identify an effectiveness monitoring com- <br />ponent; develop evaluation presentations with work <br />group members on effectiveness of implemented <br />activities. <br />Action: Present to the REC on integrating monitoring activ- <br />ities into Southwest strategy activities. <br /> <br />All REG meeting iogistics and follow up, in coordination with <br />worl< groups, agency coordinators and other committees, and <br />in providing recommended guidance to the field. <br />Action: Coordinete all logistical aspects of REC meetings. <br />Action: Work with work groups to ensure that activities are <br />developed and implemented accoiding to REC <br />direction. <br />Action: Work with work groups to ensure that presentations <br />are relevant to REC's goals and objectives. <br />Action: Identify common interagency approaches toward <br />implementation of policy agreements. <br /> <br />Serve as a central clearinghouse and networking site for in- <br />formation distributed on Southwest Strategy topics and is- <br />sues. <br />Action: Post infonnation supporting Southwest strategy goals <br />and objectives on the Southwest Strategy website: <br />1\oWW. swstrategy. org. <br />Action: Develop hardcopy brochures, reports and pamphlets <br />identifying activities and approaches to working <br />collaboratively on natural and cultural resource <br />issues. <br />Action: Coordinate with agency FOIA coordinators on <br />Freedom of Infonnation Act requests for Southwest <br />Strategy related inquiries. <br /> <br />Prepare annual reports to the REG on the status of the devel- <br />opment and implementation of the Southwest Strategy. <br />Action: Issue an activity report during the month of <br />September for the past year's activities. <br /> <br />Coordinates with work groups, other governmental agencies <br />and community-involvement resource planning efforts to de- <br />vise methods for improved customer service to the public. <br />Action: Conduct outreach activities with tribal govemments <br />and organizations regarding their involvement in the <br />development of the Southwest Strategy and/or their <br />assistance in identifying common concems. <br />Action: Conduct outreach activities with county and munici- <br />pal organizations regarding their assistance in iden- <br />tifying common concems and develop collaborative <br />intergovemmental/public sector approaches to <br />resolving conflict. <br /> <br />Retain delegated decision making authorify from the REG <br />solely for REG approved administrative and implementation <br />aspects of the Southwest Strategy. This function in no way <br />authorizes budgetary authority over an agency's regular pro- <br />gram of work. <br />Action: Ensure that the REC is infoRned about all financial <br />aspects of Southwest Strategy implementation. <br />Action: Provide recommendations to the REC on methods <br />and procedures for streamlining Interagency finan- <br />cial activities and contracting processes. <br />Action: ~rk closely with the REC to ensure that agency <br />appropriate administrative activity and financial <br />activity reporling methods are used. <br />Action: ~rk closely with REC to identify opportunities for <br />improving Southwest Strategy Coordination Office <br />administrative and operational activities. <br /> <br />Budaet <br /> <br />Proposed Agency Contributions <br /> <br />$550,000 <br /> <br />Anticipated Expenditures <br /> <br />$557,815 <br /> <br /> <br />n e an edro Iver wa ershed, the REC will support culTBnt efforts at community involvement in natural and cultural <br />resource decisions. In the Gila River watershed, the REC will support the Gila Monster Non-Point Source Group's efforts in <br />the following areas: Fire Reintroduction Campaign, Streambank Stabilization along the Upper Gila River and collaborative <br />conservation woll\ in the Black Bob Allotment project area. <br />
