In our opinion smaller flood Control Dams should be built upstream on the
South Platte River, Bijou C~eek and other tributaries of the South Platte River.

The construction of Narrows Dam as planned would not only be a waste of money,
but would take many acres of fertile land from production.

, It is our hope this money can be diverted to the smaller dams, thereby giving
protection to a greater number of taxpayers.

Re: The Narrows Reservoir

Gentlemen:

This letter is to advise that we have investigated the situation as concerns
the purposed Narrows Dam in the Weldon Valley.

It is our studied opinion that this dam would not only be serious~ detrimental
~o certain areas within our jurisdiction, but would be of very doubtful value to
~yone and would be excessively expensive.

Accordingly, we wish to advise that by this letter we register formal protest
with your offices and request that your records show that the County of Washington
is opposed to the construction of this dan in its purposed location.

Thanking you for this kind consideratiori of the status of Washington County
in this matter, we remain,
