The second largest contributor of return flows <br />to the river below Imperial Dam and above Morelos Dom, is the pumping <br />of ground waters from the South Gila Valley. For the 5th operating year, <br />quantities are estimated to amount to 59,000 acre-feet -- a decrease of <br />3,000 acre-feet from quantity pumped in the 4th year. The salinity <br />records indicate a decrease in the average annual concentration from <br />2510 to 2420 ppm. Exhibit 7 shows the total annual quantities <br />beginning in 1961, and recorded salinities. <br /> <br />6. Summary of 5th Year Operations <br /> <br />Operations during the 5th year reflect continued reduction in the salinity of <br />'waters delivered to Mexico above Morelos Dam.
