<br />, <br /> <br />,\"I '''J'' 30- <br />rJ'..E.~uu <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />consider Moffat County's Custom and Culture land use planning <br /> <br />effort, when completed, as an alternative to federal wild and <br /> <br />scenic designation. <br /> <br />In a related action, the Board commended the <br /> <br />Yampa Valley Alliance for its efforts to create a proactive, <br /> <br />comprehensive planning and development process addressing the Yampa <br /> <br />River corridor and its environmental assets. <br /> <br />John Hamill, of the us Fish & wildlife Service presented a slide <br /> <br />show on the endangered fishes of the Colorado River Basin. Hamill <br />stressed the importance of the Yampa River in the effort to recover <br />the endangered fishes. He also commended the Alternatives Study as <br />a means to work cooperatively to meet the goals of the Recover <br />program, which include the simultaneous improvement of the <br /> <br />endangered fish populations and the development of water for <br /> <br />consumptive use. <br /> <br />The River District Board will consider the best utilization of its <br /> <br />valuable Yampa River water rights in near future. The Board will <br />consider the maximum benefit for the entire 15 county River <br />District when evaluating its Yampa Basin alternatives. <br /> <br />-30- <br /> <br />3 <br />
