Thus, the duplicated <br />lands and affected villages and towns will be subject to ad valorem <br />tax levies by each district. <br /> <br />The Colorado-Big Thompson Project was exempted from the provisions <br />of' the 160-acre limitation by the Act of June 16, 1938; 52 Stat. 764; <br />43 U.S.C. 386 which states in part: "That the excess-land provisions <br />of the Federal reclamation laws shall not be applicable to lands which <br />now have an irrigation water supply from sources other than a Federal <br />reclamation project and which will receive a supplemental supply from <br />the Colorado-Big Thompson Project." <br /> <br />Inasmuch as duplicate lands are involved, it is proposed that the <br />l60-acre limitation also be waived for the Narrows Unit to avoid pOSSible <br />future operating difficulties. The practical effect of the waiver will <br />be minimal since at present only about 12 percent of all irrigable lands <br />in the Narrows Unit appear to exceed the limitation. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />82 <br />
