m

0308

Steven D. Leslie, P.E., C.C.S.
Project Engineer
Page 2

BOONE FLUME AND LAKE HENRY BIFURCATION, CO -- Designed modifications to concrete structures
to extend their useful life. The Boone flume is a 35 foot Parshall flume that needed repair of scour
holes and leveling of the concrete floor. The bifurcation structure required extensive reconstruction
of the downstream wingwalls and stilling basin.

HYLAND HILLS PARKAND RECREATION DlSTRIcr, CO n Provided CAD design services for three new
baseball fields on a slope with a 45.50 foot drop over 500 feet on a 9-acre site with 40,000 yards of
cut and fill, as well as the design of a lOO-car parking lot. Three existing baseball fields and
surrounding area will be converted into paved parking for 1600 cars. One of the project tasks is to
work with the Disnict and their landscape architect to prepare an economic plan. Cut and fill
calculations will be provided along with soils testing and surveying coordination, and construction
drawings and specifications preparation. A new park entrance will be designed with a dropoff area
accommodating handicapped individuals. A drainage report and coordination with the local regulatory
- agency is required. Due to the site being greater than 5 acres, a stormwater pennit application will
be filed with the State.

BERRY DROP STRUCTURE, CO .. Conducted field inspection for construction of large concrete drop
structure. Responsibilities included: interpretation of contract documents; observation of construction
for compliance with drawings and specifications; coordination of work; shop drawing and submittal
review; concrete and soil field testing; processing of field otdets, change orders, and applications for
payment. Construction cost is approximately $Ic5,aOO.

COLORADO SPRl:-;GS RAW WATER DELIVERY STUDY, CO n Assisted with hydrologic analyses of
several major raw water collection systems. Determined watershed runoff and diversion system
capacities to develop potential warershed yields. Helped prepare written technical memorandum and
reports.

LYMAN DITCH RESTORATION PROJECT, CO n Conducted field investigation of inigation ditch and
associated snuctures including measuring flume, elevated flume, and inverted siphon. Helped develop
ditch restoration plan and cost estimates to restore ditch to decreed capacity of 26 cfs. Assisted with
design of repairs and restoration work to ditch, measuring flume and inverted siphon. Also assisted
in design of replacement elevated flume as old flume was beyond economical repair. Estimated
construction cost is $80,700.

SECONDARY WATER SYSTEM, MONTICELLO, UT .- Conducted field inspection for the installation of
a day bentoni,e liner in an. irrigation reservoir. Responsibilities included: interpretation of contract
documents; observation of construction for compliance with plans and specifications; coordination of
communication between engineer, Cicy of Monticello, and contractor; shop drawing review;
preparation and processing of field orders, change orders, and applications for payment.

WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM ANALYSIS, FORT CARSON, COLORADO SPRINGS, CO -. Assisted in
field engineering including fire hydrant flow tests, line valve tests, and friction factor coefficient tests.
Assisted in water system analysis including calculation of present and future domestic, indusnial,
irrigation, and fire flow water demands. Helped set up and calibrate a computer model of the entire
Fort Carson water system using the "Kentucky Water System Model" computer program. Assisted in
writing a final report detailing procedures, conclusions, and recommendations for future improvements
with cost estimates.
