The <br />problems are similar over the entire watershed irrigated acreage and the drains th,,( <br />convey the pollutants to the Arkansas River. Management and enduring irrigation <br />practices provide the opportunities to reduce the nutrient, trace elements, he-.vy <br />metals, sediment, and pesticide problems in the watershed downstream in rle <br />Arkansas River. <br /> <br />Wildlife and aquatic habitat is expected to improve through practice hl!>!~\iation. The <br />resource base including 59,700 acres of important farmland will be n 1.'Ilntained. This <br />will help increase on-farm benefits through reduced farming inputs lower irrigation <br />operation and maintenance costs, improved water application effectiveness, and <br />maintained yields.
