After 1970 the oil shales in the Piceance Creek <br /> <br />area and in Uintah County, Utah, will become important. <br /> <br /> <br />Some development in these latter areas could begin earlier. <br /> <br /> <br />It is estimated that of the 1,250,000 barrels per day of <br /> <br /> <br />shale oil production predicted for 1975 over 90% will be <br /> <br /> <br />in Colorado. <br /> <br />Population <br /> <br /> <br />The population serving the shale industry will be <br /> <br /> <br />large by 1975.
