Once collected, the information was carefully evaluated
prior to its incorporation in the forecasts. Prior water resource plannin9
studies for the Rocky Mountain Front Range Region and individual data from
supplier survey respondents provided a basis for consistency checks. This
information was also used for making estimates where data voids could not be
filled through primary data collection efforts.

The synthesis of survey data was reviewed with respective suppliers to
ensure that proper data sources were used. In some instances, a second
round of interviews or contacts were made which resulted in different or
more recent information. The information collection procedures and the
population and water demand forecasting approaches were reviewed with the
Advisory Committee at an early point. Finally, the completed demographic
and water demand projections were distributed in draft form to each
respective supplier for their review and comment. A number of water
suppliers suggested changes and refinements in these draft forecasts which
were then reviewed once again with affected water suppliers in the study
area. This prolonged and extensive review process with study area water
suppliers was considered worthwhile because the demand projections and
supplier information base formed the foundation for subsequent regional
water supply study tasks and activities.

The demographic and water demand forecasting procedure is described in
Section 1.4 of this report. The methods selected for the Regional Water
Supply Study reflect a balance among approaches currently utilized by study
area water suppliers, a need for consistency in this study, and techniques
found to be most useful in similar water demand studies. Sections 1.5 and
1.6 present the demographic and water demand projections, respectively. The
demographic forecasts in Section 1.5 comprise the principal influence on the
demand forecasts developed in Section 1.6. Appendix I.A provides
demographic and water demand forecasts for individual suppliers.
