~
~
r=

-20-

.-

reservoir. It is zero when a Juniper call is in effect.
In months in which Juniper Reservoir filled during the
month (both "yes" and "no" checked in Col. 7) then this
column reflects a 100% fill rate for the time that the
Juniper call is off. The percentage of time that the
call is off is determined by dividing streamflow which
is left over after satisfying direct flow requriements
and .filling the Juniper Reservoir (Col. 1 - Col. 2 _
Col. 4) by the total streamflow (Col. 1).
Column 10 1':-",,1'<" "r,.i...Hl-1uus_ J;)>;,a~a:r;V.l1 ii'!-=HdonIlldfi 1'-a:L'K
Reservoir was determined from weather records to average
30 inches per year. Also from Weather Bureau records
it was determined that the yearly evaporation is distri-
buted as follows:

-I

'....'

--

Month

Percent of
Annual
Evapora tion

.

May 19
June 23
July 23
August 19
September 16

The average surface area, taken from an elevation-area

volume curve, is multiplied by the monthly evaporation,

in feet, to obtain total evaporation loss.

Column 11 - Hinman Park Reservoir augmentation release. This

release is based on the assumption that the Saddle Moun-
------
tain Pump Station consumptively uses 50% of its 65 cfs
year-round requirement and that this consumptive use
must be augmented by releases f~m the Hinman Park Reser-
voir when Juniper has placed a call on the river. In
addition, a 6% stream loss is charged to the releases.
In months during which Juniper Reservoir fills to cap-
acity, augmentation water is released only during that
portion of the month when the Juniper call is on.
Column 12 - Total Hinman Park Reservoir storage.
