. 9. Green River from Green River, UT downstream through white-
water reach (no change except to omit question as to
extent) 093150
10. Price River (upstream reaches) changed to: Freemont
",... River (upstrifID reaches), Pine Creek in vicinity of
~ Bicknell, UT- 093299
W
<::> 11. Green River from Fontenelle Dam to head of Flaming
Gorge Reservoir (no change) 092170

.

.

As the assessment progressed, however, the CIFSG and the Study Manager

became concerned as to whether the February 1 1 i st provi ded adequate

coverage of stream classes which might be impacted. This was discussed

at a conference in Ft. Colli ns on April 4, 1978. The Study Manager

presented a list of streams suggested by fishery biologists of the

Colorado Division of Wildlife as candidates for representation of cold-

water and transition streams. Also available for discussion was a draft

of an analysis of UCRB-RAA groups and size classes prepared by the CIFSG.

As a result of this conference, the February 1 list of candidate reaches

was revised (see attachments A-3 and A-4). Briefly, this revision

retained all of the candidate streams contained in the February 1 list

except Fremont River (upstream reaches), but it postponed work on the two

reaches of the San Juan River in New Mexico and the Green River in

Wyoming as far as CIFSG data collection was concerned, until such time as

hydrologic data projections indicated that significant change in flow

might occur. The revision also added three candidate streams for simu-

lation of coldwater reaches, namely:

1/

Change in 10 was still tentative, with the stated option of selecting
some other high elevation coldwater stream as representative of such
streams.

18
