Basic authority for the BOR <br />(now HeRS) participation rests in Section 2 (g) titled (Interdepartmental <br />Cooperation), of the Act of May 28, 1963, P.L. 88-29 (77 Stat. 50) and <br />the Economy Act of 1932, 31 USC 636. <br /> <br />F. Nature and Scope of the UCRB Assessment <br /> <br />Section 13 specifically refers to "any proposed demonstration project" <br /> <br /> <br />[13 (b)] and "any proposed Federal assistance for commercial application <br /> <br /> <br />~ of energy technologies" [13 (c)]. Section 13 (a) refers to any technology <br /> <br /> <br />or technologies which are the subject of Federal research and development <br /> <br /> <br />efforts authorized by the [Nonnuclear] Act. It is presumed that a recon- <br /> <br /> <br />naissance level of assessment is in order for the latter, while/the other <br /> <br />two would require site-specific (detailed) appraisals. <br /> <br />The UCRB assessment area covers the Colorado River Basin upstream from <br /> <br /> <br />Lees Ferry, Arizona.
