A contractor's (CH2M Hill) report, funded by BR and addressing the amount and location of riparian-wetland habitat in the project area, has been completed and was the primary information source for the FWS report. Uinta Basin The FWS's FWCA report was completed and transmitted to BR on April 5, 1984. The evaluation concluded that this unit will result in the conversion of approximatelY 625 acres of riparian cover types to upland cover types and that lining of the project canals may create a hazard to mule deer and antelope in the area. To mitigate losses, the FWCA report recommended that sufficient funding be made available for the development of 627 acres of BLM's Pariette Wash Unit of the My ton Wildlife Management Area and construction of protected crossing structures, fencing, and/or big game escape ramps. Di rty Devi 1 Following a field trip to review the unit in September 1984, FWS completed the final Planning Assistance Report which described general fish and wildlife concerns associated with proposed construction and maintenance of this unit. Meeker Dome Planning by the BR in 1984 has not required FWS assistance. Impacts to fish and wildlife resources are not anticipated. La Verkin Springs No FWS activities have occurred on this unit since the last report. Lower Virgin River The major activity during FY 1984 consisted of a review of the draft biological baseline prepared by the BR which included a good, detailed analysis of the fish and wildlife resources and native vegetation and crops found in the unit.
