Additional expenditures by the Federal government after construction will not be requil-ed for additional flood protecti on. Therefol'e, the proposed project is in comp 1 i ance with Executive Order 11988. Executive Order 1199D - Protection of Wetlands. stresses the need to avoid adverse impacts of construction activities in wetlands. The only identified wetlands which vlill be encountered are at Bid Sandy Creek and at Buffalo Creek. In these instances. the construction specifications will direct that specific measures be implemented to minimize adverse construction impacts in these areas. as agreed with the Fish and Wildlife Service. These measures assure compliance with Executive Order 11990. *Core \-Iall is constructed by trenching an 8-inch I-ride by 8-foot deep trench in the canal dike and filling the trench with concrete.
