The canal sections are in good condition. but the drop
structures on the Comanche are in poor to fair condition.

The Amity Diversion Dam, Sluiceway and Headworks were recently rebuilt
and are in excellent condition. The dam and sluiceway was excavated
to 10 feet below the river bed during the rebuilding and was found to
be in good condition, The dams crest and the portion of the sluiceway
above the river bottom were in poor condition and were faced with 6
inches of new reinforced concrete, The headworks structure, in good
condition to start with, was epoxy coated to extend its life. Remain-
ing to be done at the diversion dam is to replace the access bridge,
the operating deck and sluicegates on the headworks structure and to
paint the new radial gates in the sluiceway.

The Amity Canal is in generally good condition throughout its length
but various structures are in poor to fair condition.

The system is divided into four operating divisions as follows:
Ratio:
Division Acres Water Shares Shares/Acres
Lamar 3,780 3.727.D5 ,986
Sand Creek 7,265 7,115,91 .979
. - ,.
Buffalo 17,250 17,003,41 ,985
Holly 6,705 6,796,49 1.014
Tota 1 s 35,000 34,682,86 ,991

Water. delivered by the canal, is supplied by division to the privately
owned lateral headgates.
