This practice provides maximum crop yield for the water
supply, Some farmers are able to supple~ent system-supplied water water
water from privately-owned wells. In an average year. the Amity System,
after completion of this project. will provide water to fully irrigate
24.000 acres, The water is available to all shareholders and therefore
to 35.000 acres. ,The individual farmer determines the number of acres
on which to apply his water. The average year water supply is shown in
Table 2 and land use and water requirement are summarized in Table 3,

Land Ownership

For the approximately 35,000 water contract acres*, there are 224 farmers
for an average size irrigated farm of 156 acres, The irrigated farm ranges
from 1 acre to about 1405 acres,

Of the existing contract lands for 1982, 1.78 percent is in excess of
960 acres per farm and 0.02 percent is in ownership of 5 acres or less.
Excess and M&I lands are expected to remain at a total of 1,8 percent
during the loan period,

WATER

Average year water supply is shown in Table 2. Land use and water require-
ment is summarized in Table 3, Existing water rights are summarized below:

*Based on the assumption that one water share = one irrigated acre.
