<br />PART C-6 <br /> <br />BUREAU OF MINES <br /> <br />Intermountain Field Operations Center, Denver, Colorado <br /> <br />Minerals Availability System (MAS) <br /> <br />During the first half of CY 1980, 31 reports were completed and submitted to <br />Washington, D.C. They involved 2 lead, 13 coba1t~lead, 10 copper, 2 molyb- <br />denum, 1 chromium, and 3 alumina properties. Meantime, the Mineral Industry <br />Location Service (MILS) data base now contains nearly 44,400 entries. The <br />Mine Map Repository (MMR) has listings for nearly 24,000 mine maps. <br /> <br />.Mineral Land Assessment Program (MLA) <br /> <br />Twenty assessment reports were cQmpleted and forwarded to lluMines offices or <br />outside agencies. Fieldwork was conducted on 31 project sites in Arizona, <br />New Mexico, Colorado, and Missouri. At 16 sites work was initiated and <br />completed; work at 10 other sites was begun but not completed; and fieldwork <br />is continuing on other study areas held over fromCY 1979. <br /> <br />Environment <br /> <br />Memoranda and letters of comment were prepared and submitted on 27 documents, <br />principally environmental statements, analyses, and assessments prepared by <br />other agencies. <br /> <br />River Basin Studies <br /> <br />Reports on mineral resources. at 'reservoir sites in Colorado, Texas. and <br />Oklahoma were completed and forwarded to the Water and Power Resources Service <br />and the Corps of Engineers. <br /> <br />, <br />Mineral Studies on Indian Reservations <br /> <br />CY 1980 assignments to the .BuMines at Denver included 13 Phase I mineral lit- <br />erature studies for Indian Reservations in Arizona, New Mexico, North Dakota, <br />South Dakota, and Utah. All manuscripts have been completed and forwarded to <br />W.O. Phase II reconnaissance, mapping, and/or report preparation continued on <br />two reservations in Arizona and Utah. New Phase II work was begun at three <br />reservations, two in New Mexico (Alamo and Santa Ana) and one in California- <br />Arizona (Colorado River). Phase III exploration drilling and final draft <br />manuscript work were completed for projects at Laguna Reservation, New Mexico, <br />and Papa go Reservation, Arizona. A supplemental report on the Papa go <br />Reservation is in progress. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />C-58 <br />
