I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

Plans E through G. Eagle-Arkansas waters would be diverted
from the Eagle River and conveyed into new storage reservoirs as
outlined under the individual plans.

1. Plan A - Tunnel and Pipelines

Plan A includes:
a. A tunnel extending 22,500 feet northwesterly from the vicin,
ity of the Fancy Creek Diversion Dam to a portal on Cross
Creek 2.000 feet upstream from the north end of Middle Moun-
tain at elevation 10,400. A rockfill dam and diversion structure
would be constructed for diversion of Cross Creek water into the
tunnel.

b, A 54 inch pipeline 3.800 feet long from the tunnel portal
on Cross Creek around the north end of Middle Mountain to
West Cross Creek at elevation 10,450 with diversion facilities
similar to those at Cross Creek.

c. A 42 inch pipeline 21.000 feet long from the tunnel portal
on Cross Creek to a diversion point on East Cross Creek one
mi Ie downstream from Lake Patricia at elevation 10,500. Stream
diversion facilities would be provided similar to those at Cross
Creek.

d. A 54 to 66 inch pipeline 63,000 feet long connecting to the
, Fancy-French conduit at the French Creek diversion, traversing
. .the west slope of Homestake Valley and terminating at Fall
Creek at elevation 10,400. Diversion facilities would be provided
at Fall Creek, Peterson Creek, Whitney Creek and other unnamed
stFEidms. Diversion would be practical at these minor streams
u'';r this plan since the pipeline crosses the stream in each case.
o
e, A 72 inch pipeline commencing near the inlet of the Mis-
souri Tunnel and paralleling the existing Fancy-French gravity
conduit 3,000 feet in a northerly direction to the portal of the
tunnel under 1-a. Initial flows under this diversion would be
routed into the Fancy-French conduit. Ultimate development

would overload the Fancy-French conduit. and the additional 72
inch parallel conduit would be required.

f. To collect Eagle-Arkansas Division waters. a 42 to 60 inch
pipeline 58,000 feet long, beginning at an outfall structure on
the east slope of Tennessee Pass and traversing the east slope of
Piney Creek and the South Fork of the Eagle River and the
south and north slopes of the East Fork of the Eagle River and
terminating at elevation 10,500. Diversion facilities would be
provided at the East Fork of the Eagle River, Cataract Creek,
Jones Gulch, and other minor named and unnamed streams
crossed by the pipeline. The conduit would be installed in an
existing tunnel through Tennessee Pass and discharge into Ten-
nessee Creek. Tennessee Creek would require appreciable enlarge-
ment or a conduit would be required to convey Eagle-Arkansas
waters to a point downstream in Tennessee Creek where the
natural channel would have adequate capacity to accommodate
the increased flows.

2. Plan B - Tunnels and Pipeline

Plan B includes:
a, Section 1. a tunnel extending from the vIcinity of Fancy
Creek Diversion Dam northerly 18,000 feet, thence westerly
9.000 feet to a point beneath Cross Creek Valley with a riser
shaft to the valley floor at elevation 10,400. A rockfill diversion
dam, gated diversion structure, measuring flume and diversion
pipe connected to the tunnel riser shaft would be constructed to
divert Cross Creek water into the tunnel.

b. Section 2, a tunnel extending from the riser shaft at Cross
Creek northwesterly 3,000 feet to a point beneath West Cross
Creek Valley, A riser shaft and diversion facilities would be
provided similar to those at Cross Creek.

c, Section 3. a tunnel extending from the point on Section 1 at
which the tunnel angles westerly to Cross Creek. in a north-
easterly direction, 10,500 feet to a point beneath Notch Moun-

13
