<br />SAN JUAN-CHAMA <br />WATER ACCOUNTING <br />ALBUQUERQUE AREA OFFICE <br />MARCH 1995 <br /> <br />The natural inflow into Heron Reservoir during the month of March was computed to <br />be 19,590 acre-feet (af) as shown on Table 3. Net San Juan-Chama losses were <br />-210 af as shown on Table 2. There were no diversions through Azotea Tunnel <br />during March. <br /> <br />There was a total of 18,350 af of natural released in March from Heron. There <br />was a total of 45,252 af of San Juan-Chama water released during March. A total <br />of 1,058 af was released for Santa Fe for depletion to the river (30 af above <br />Otowi, 1,028 af below Otowi). A total of 984 af was released to offset losses to <br />the Cochiti recreation pool. 63 af were released for Bernalillo for depletion <br />purposes below Otowi. 9 af were released for Taos for depletions above Otowi. <br />53 af were released for Los Lunas for depletions below Otowi. 318 af were <br />released for the City of Albuquerque for depletions (8 af above Otowi, 310 af <br />below Otowi). 42,767 af were released for the City of Albuquerque bound for El <br />Vado (to MRGCD) and Abiquiu. <br /> <br />Total precipitation reported at Heron Reservoir for the month of March was <br />3.55 inches which is 162% of normal. The monthly computations for Heron <br />Reservoir are summarized in Tables 1-3. <br /> <br />Total inflow into Nambe Falls Reservoir was computed to be 740 af. Evaporation <br />loss on the reservoir was 8 af. Table 4 summarizes San Juan-Chama water at <br />Otowi. <br /> <br />Estimated sediment deposition in the San Juan-Chama pools at Cochiti, Abiquiu, <br />and Jemez Canyon Reservoirs are presented in Tables 5A-5C. <br /> <br />Storage and evaporation of Rio Grande water in El Vado and Abiquiu reservoirs are <br />shown on Table 6. <br /> <br />All data are provisional and subject to revision as final data are collected and <br />analyzed. <br />
