San Juan-Chama Water Accounting Albuquerque Area Office December 1995 The natural inflow into Heron Reservoir during the month of December was computed to be 150 acre-feet (af) as shown on Table 3. Net San Juan-Chama losses were 250 af as shown on Table 2. There were no diversions through Azotea Tunnel this month. There was a total of 150 af of natural released in the form of seepage in December from Heron. There was no San Juan-Chama water released in December. Total precipitation at Heron Reservoir was 0.26 inches which is 20% of normal. The monthly computations for Heron Reservoir are summarized in Tables 1-3. In-Oecember a total of 12,307 af was released from MRGCD's pool in EI Vado as payback to the City of Albuquerque (City) in Abiquiu. 252 af was released for Santa Fe in Abiquiu for depletions at Otowi (6 af above Otowi, 246 af below Otowi, SEO letters of 12/12/95 and 12/22/95). 6 af was borrowed from City in Abiquiu for Taos depletions above Otowi, SEO letter 11/29/95. 59 at was borrowed from City in Abiquiu tor Bernalillo for depletions at Otowi, SEO letter 12/4/95. The remaining 139 af will be delivered from Bernalillo's 1995 Heron allocation by the end of April 1996. 1,339 af was borrowed from City in Abiquiu for the Cochiti Recreational Pool. At the end of December, MRGCO's balance owed to the City was 25,312 af, for water borrowed to meet irrigation demands. Total inflow into Nambe Falls Reservoir was computed to be 237 af. Evaporation loss on the reservoir was 1 af. Table 4 summarizes San Juan-Chama water at Otowi. Estimated sediment deposition in the San Juan-Chama pools at Abiquiu and Jemez Canyon Reservoirs, and Cochiti Lake are presented in Tables 5A-5C. Storage and evaporation of Rio Grande water in EI Vado and Abiquiu Reservoirs are shown on Table 6. All data are provisional and subject to revision as final data are collected and analyzed.
