The input data files are found in exhibit 9.
The XCONS2 results are presented in exhibit 10. Incidental consumptive use was
computed using the same percentages of the computed net irrigation requirement
presented in the 1991-95 report. The incidental consumptive use was added to the net
irrigation requirement calculated by XCONS2 to compute the total irrigation consumptive
use. A summary of irrigation consumptive use by hydrologic unit is presented in exhibit
11.

Stock Pond
Stock pond consumptive use is assumed to be the evaporation from the stock pond. The
total surface area of the stock ponds in the Upper Colorado Basin was taken from Table 2,
page 9 of the Livestock Water Use, 1975, published by U. S. Department of Agriculture,
Soil Conservation Service. The totals are presented according to main tributary ( 1401
Green, 1402 Colorado, 1403 San Juan) and were disaggregated using livestock numbers
as a proportioning guide. The reporting areas are divided by state and main tributary.
The total surface area in each reporting area is treated as one unmeasured reservoir.

An average free water surface'(FWS) evaporation rate was taken from NOAA Technical
Report NWS 33, Evaporation Atras for the Contiguous 48 United States, June 1982, Map
3 of 4: Annual FWS Evaporation. The location used in the 1981-85 report was used to
determine the FWS evaporation and to assign the weather station for precipitation. The
net evaporation was calculated as FWS minus the greater of historical precipitation or
salvage value. The salvage value is assumed to be equal to the pre-reservoir losses. The
salvage value, surface acres and fullness factors were taken from the 1981-85 report. A
summary of the stockpond evaporation is shown in exhibit 12.

Livestock
Livestock water consumptive use is the daily amount of water consumed by an animal.
Incidental water uses or wastes were not taken into account.
